– O time tem tido atuações seguras.
Neste domingo, o Palmeiras volta a jogar no Brasileiro, contra a Chapecoense.

Pakistan will depart for Bangladesh tomorrow with the exception of Shahid Afridi, who is undergoing a week-long rehabilitation before joining the squad on March 17

Pakistan will depart for Bangladesh tomorrow with the exception of Shahid Afridi, who is undergoing a week-long rehabilitation before joining the squad on March 17. Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez is happy that their opening World T20 game on March 21 is a high-pressure one against archrivals India.”Winning against India will give us a much-needed momentum,” Hafeez said. “It’s a pressure game wherever you play against them. You have pressure from the media, your nation and when you perform well against them it gets easy for you. It’s a very important game for us. As a player, also as a captain, I am very happy that our first match is against India and from there we can take off.”Pakistan, the 2009 World T20 champions and runners up in 2007, are coming off the Asia Cup where they lost in the final to Sri Lanka. Hafeez said it was important to carry forward that momentum.”You have to be positive in your thinking against all the teams and guard against complacency,” he said. “Two things are very important in a big tournament – one is momentum which you have to carry, and we performed well in the Asia Cup. The second is luck and with the prayers of our countrymen, the luck factor will also be with us.”The approach is clear as we have to play hard cricket and there should be no fear of failure. In short-form cricket you can’t recover if you make a mistake, and we will try not to commit mistakes.”Hafeez confirmed that his squad was fully fit, quashing rumours that a few players were carrying injuries. Pakistan last played a T20 in December against Sri Lanka in the UAE but have played ample limited-overs cricket in the lead-up to the World T20.”We have one week with a couple of warm-up games to tune up the side and everyone is acquainted with the conditions in Bangladesh. Fitness might have been the concern during the Asia Cup but it happens when you play back-to-back matches. Everyone is fine. Afridi’s is not that serious and he will be fit. He is going through rehab and as a captain I need a fit Afridi, that’s why we have given him time.”Pakistan’s major strength is bowling but in the Asia Cup, they managed to take ten wickets only once in five games, against Afghanistan. Hafeez was aware that his strike bowlers Umar Gul and Junaid Khan have suffered a dip in form.”The performance of the fast bowlers will be key for us because they have to play their roles with both the new and old ball,” Hafeez said. “Mohammad Akram (bowling coach) is working hard with both of them in the nets, but in the end it’s up to them to go out and deliver. We have to support them.”

Amit Yadav exults after his last-ball six powered Goa to a two-wicket over Hyderabad•BCCI
Goa ended the South Zone leg of their campaign with a perfect record, beating Hyderabad by two wickets to register their fifth win in five games. They did so in spectacular fashion, with Amit Yadav hitting Pragyan Ojha for six when Goa needed five runs to win from one ball. It was Yadav’s fifth six in a blistering 15-ball 38, and his second of the over, which had begun with Goa needing 14 to win.Hyderabad batted first and made 149 for 7, with opener DB Ravi Teja scoring 48 and No. 6 Amol Shinde tonking 28 off 13 balls late in the innings. Goa’s seamers took the bulk of the wickets, with Harshad Gadekar, Gauresh Gawas and Lakshay Garg picking up two each.Goa opener Sagun Kamat scored his fourth half-century in five matches, and held their innings together at the start of their chase even as wickets fell around him. Goa, at one stage, were 56 for 6. Kamat fell for a 44-ball 56, after he had put on 34 with Gadekar. Goa, at that point, needed 51 runs from 28 balls, and Yadav walked in to provide the thrust they so desperately needed. When Gadekar was out for 30 in the last over of the innings, Goa needed six runs from two balls. In came Garg, who took the all-important single to bring Yadav on strike.Kerala joined Goa in the all-India phase of the tournament, after beating Andhra by nine wickets. They did so in comprehensive enough manner – they won with 63 balls remaining – to gain a healthy boost to their net run-rate, but that proved unnecessary in the end, after Tamil Nadu lost to Karnataka.Rajkot, Mumbai to host Super League
The ten teams that have qualified for the Super League stage will be split into two groups, with Rajkot hosting the Group A matches and Mumbai the Group B games. The final on April 14 will be staged in Mumbai. Group A Haryana, Goa, Jharkhand, Gujarat, UP Group B Delhi, Kerala, Bengal, Baroda, Rajasthan
Having chosen to bowl, Kerala rolled Andhra over for 69, with medium-pacer Basil Thampi – playing only his second Twenty20 match – and left-arm spinner Padmanabhan Prasanth picking up three wickets each. Andhra could have folded for even less were it not for D Shivkumar’s 14-ball 20, the only two-digit score in their innings.Kerala had no trouble in knocking down their target, with openers Vishnu Vinod and KJ Rakesh sending them on their way with a 63-run partnership. Rakesh was run out for 29, but Vinod remained at the crease till the end to finish unbeaten on 31.A four-wicket haul from part-time legspinner Amit Verma sent Tamil Nadu hurtling to 87 all out and hurtling out of the tournament, as Karnataka ended their campaign with a consolation 35-run win that took them off the bottom of the South Zone table.Sent in to bat, Karnataka scored 122 for 7, with six of their batsmen getting into double-figures but none of them getting past 22. Sunil Sam was Tamil Nadu’s most successful bowler, with figures of 2 for 27, while fellow seamer Yo Mahesh and offspinner M Prabhu took a wicket apiece.Tamil Nadu were four down at the end of their powerplay overs, before B Indrajith and Vijay Shankar staged a mini-recovery with a brisk 22-run fifth-wicket stand. Then, Verma got to work. Starting with his dismissal of Indrajith, Tamil Nadu lost five wickets – three to Verma, two to run-outs – for the addition of just seven runs in the space of 10 balls. Tamil Nadu’s tenth-wicket pair then added 17, before Verma dismissed Sam to finish with figures of 3.1-1-2-4.

O versátil meio-campista tenta tudo: passes rápidos, tabelas, lançamentos, carregar a bola…

Sri Lanka’s fast bowlers have begun training at home with Duke balls, in preparation for the two-Test series against England in June

Sri Lanka’s hopes of sending up to six cricketers to England for early-season training had been upset by former coach Paul Farbrace’s move to the English setup, but their fast bowlers have nonetheless begun training at home with Duke balls, in preparation for the two-Test series in June.Tests in England pose a unique challenge for foreign sides, most of whom use Kookaburra balls across all formats. Chaminda Vaas did not have memorable Test tours of England in his career, but as the fast-bowling coach, he has drawn up specific plans to consolidate the pace attack’s 2014 gains.”The Duke ball doesn’t swing much earlier on,” Vaas told . “Some of the guys who could play for us in Tests like Suranga Lakmal, Shaminda Eranga, Dhammika Prasad and Nuwan Pradeep have lot of potential and they will develop during this tour.”Though his Tests returns in England were mediocre, Vaas has had good experience of English conditions in four largely successful county stints for Northamptonshire, Hampshire, Worcestershire and Middlesex. His knowhow may be vital to the fast bowlers’ performance on the tour, particularly as only one tour fixture precedes the Tests.”The wickets will suit seamers in the early season and conditions will be wet. It will be tough for them, but hopefully they will enjoy the conditions and I am looking forward to working with these guys.”Nagging line-and-length complemented by modest movement off the seam has been the hallmark of Sri Lanka’s new pace spearheads Eranga and Lakmal – a strategy that brought laudable dividends against Pakistan and Bangladesh this year. Vaas suggested the attack would not veer far from that blueprint in England.”We have been working on things like accuracy, good line and length. The results are there for everyone to see and we need to keep improving. Suranga and Shaminda both bowl at 135 (kph) plus. They need to bowl in that range constantly and their variation will help them.”Accuracy had been allied with endurance in the UAE, where Eranga and Lakmal both delivered over 130 overs each in three back-to-back Tests against Pakistan. The side’s plans made for some attritional cricket, but when Sri Lanka won a Test in Dubai largely on the back of their quicks, there were hints the strategy could lead to a resurgence of fast bowling in the national team.”I always tell them to be patient. We need to bowl good balls to take wickets. When you keep bowling one line the wickets will come. You need to put the batsmen under pressure. During the Pakistan series in UAE a lot of people didn’t give us much of a chance. But our seamers did the simple things right and enjoyed quite a bit of success.”Kumar Sangakkara will also have some Duke-ball preparation, after he confirmed a two-match stint with Durham before Sri Lanka’s limited-overs series in England.Sri Lanka depart for Ireland for two ODIs on May 2, before moving on to England for a full tour consisting of one T20I, five ODIs and two Tests.

Division Two leaders Hampshire struck three times late on to snatch a modest advantage over Leicestershire on day two of their Championship clash at Grace Road. The home side looked to be on course for a first-innings lead as they reached 187 for 3 in reply to 332 all out, only for a late clatter of wickets to reduce them to 296 for 9 – a deficit of 36 runs.South Africa seamer Kyle Abbott took 4 for 55 and new-ball partner James Tomlinson ended the day with 3 for 49 as Leicestershire paid the price for several of their top order failing to go on having played themselves in.Leicestershire needed just 25 balls to clean up the Hampshire tail in the morning session, with Nathan Buck and Anthony Ireland swiftly getting rid of Abbott and Danny Briggs as Hampshire added just 11 runs to their overnight total of 321 for 8. Former England Lions seamer Buck was the pick of the hosts’ attack as he finished with figures of 5 for 84.The Leicestershire reply got off to a slow start as Abbott swiftly had Greg Smith caught by James Vince at second slip for 4. But Angus Robson, brother of Middlesex’s England hopeful Sam, overcame a probing opening spell from Tomlinson before unfurling a string of boundaries to all parts of the ground. He found a willing ally in Ned Eckersley, who rode his luck throughout the morning session – most noticeably when he was dropped by Sean Ervine at first slip off the unfortunate Tomlinson – as the home side reached 79 for 1 at the interval. After lunch Eckersley was dropped again behind the stumps and survived two enthusiastic lbw shouts from Abbott, but it was Robson who fell for 54 when Tomlinson changed the angle by coming around the wicket and induced a thin edge through to wicketkeeper Michael Bates.Eckersley’s scratchy 34 was brought to an end when he was bowled trying to hit spinner Briggs square of the wicket, but West Indian Ramnaresh Sarwan brought up a quick fifty and Josh Cobb hit Briggs down the ground for six as the home side made it through to tea without further trouble.Leicestershire captain Sarwan inexplicably skied Abbott’s first ball after the interval to Matt Coles at midwicket to depart for 60, and Niall O’Brien carved the same bowler to Will Smith at point for eight four overs later as the hosts slid to 195 for 5.Part-time offspinner Smith became Hampshire’s seventh bowler of the innings and had success in his first over when Cobb nicked one to Bates attempting a cut for 37. Tomlinson then took two wickets in an over with the second new ball – Jigar Naik playing one onto his stumps two deliveries before Ireland nicked through to Vince at second slip. And Abbott snared Rob Taylor for 53 as the left-hander’s leading edge flew straight to Hampshire skipper Jimmy Adams at mid-off.The visitors may have expected to wrap things up before close at that stage, but Buck and Charlie Shreck held out until stumps, adding a valuable 15 runs on a track displaying some variable bounce.
