Pakistan allrounder Mohammad Hafeez has been banned from bowling in international cricket for 12 months after his action was found to be illegal for a second time since November 2014. He will be able to have his action reassessed by the ICC only after this period is completed.Hafeez, 34, had undergone testing at an ICC-accredited lab in Chennai on July 6, after his action was reported following the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle in June. The tests revealed Hafeez’s action exceeded the permitted 15-degree limit.”As this report has constituted the player’s second report within a two-year period, the first of which led to a suspension, he is now automatically suspended from bowling in international cricket for a 12-month period,” the ICC said. “Hafeez is entitled to appeal any procedural aspect of an independent assessment that has led to this automatic suspension. However, only after the expiry of this one-year period will he be entitled to approach the ICC for a reassessment of his bowling action.”Hafeez’s troubles

Hafeez had been reported for a suspect action after the Abu Dhabi Test against New Zealand in November last year, and in December his action was found to be illegal following tests at an ICC accredited centre in Loughborough, England. He was found to have an elbow extension up to 31 degrees.He underwent remedial work at a biomechanics lab in Chennai, but failed an unofficial test on his action on January 3. Later that month the PCB requested the ICC to retest Hafeez’s action in February in Brisbane, so that he could bowl at the World Cup if cleared, but he was ruled out of the tournament with a calf injury. Hafeez was finally cleared to bowl again in international cricket on April 21, after more tests on his action in Chennai.After he was reported following the Galle match, Hafeez bowled in the second Test in Colombo, where he took one wicket before travelling to Chennai to have his action tested. He missed the third Test in Pallekele as a result, but returned to play the first two ODIs in Sri Lanka, taking 4 for 41 and 2 for 61.

There’s a reason why orthodox fields work. They both demand and reward a good line and length. Repeatedly, however, teams deviate from that template while bowling to a top-order batsman marshalling the tail. Repeatedly, teams suffer, just like Saurashtra did on the third day of the Ranji Trophy final.A game that was on an even keel went beyond Saurashtra’s control as Mumbai’s last-wicket pair of Siddesh Lad and Balwinder Sandhu added 103. Suddenly a day that began with hope and promise ended in disappointment. The loss will be a bitter pill to swallow because, unlike in 2012-13 final against Mumbai when they were blown away in no time, Saurashtra had a genuine chance this time around.Mumbai’s lead was a manageable 33 when Lad and Sandhu came together at the crease and part of the plan was to attack the pair simultaneously. But when that didn’t work for five overs, they tried defensive fields. It played into Mumbai’s hands – the lead allowed them to attack and eventually bulldoze a brittle Saurashtra batting line-up in under two full sessions.Once their strike bowler Jaydev Unadkat was taken for runs, the rest of the attack froze under an onslaught they didn’t see coming. Sitanshu Kotak, the coach who was a part of the XI that was blown away in similar fashion three years ago, felt the bowlers were guilty of trying too many things instead of sticking to the plans that had helped them claw back after the 152-run, third-wicket stand between Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav in the first innings.”We could have tried a little less, if anything, I would think,” Kotak said. “But from outside, you are handicapped. But I suppose when someone is very aggressive and if you try more and more, he gets a chance to score more and more runs. But, on a day when you get him out, people say see, it was successful. On another day when you go for 50-60-70 runs, people say ‘Why did you try so hard?’ It is part and parcel of the game I suppose.”While the bowling lacked bite under Lad’s sustained attack, Saurashtra’s fielding, particularly the slip-catching, was equally culpable. As many as four chances were grassed, two each by Arpit Vasavada and Cheteshwar Pujara. Vasavada’s dropped chance at slip to reprieve Iyer cost Saurashtra 80 runs, while Pujara’s grassed chance with Lad on 24 cost them 64 runs.”I think the bowling, in the quarter-final and the semi-final, was a lot better. Here it was not up to the mark, but we still managed to create chances, only to drop catches – think we let off four of them,” Kotak rued. “In 10 games, I can’t remember four catches being dropped. We dropped a couple altogether. It is one of those things, but it’s disappointing because our best slip fielders dropped them.”So that made a difference. A lead of just 30-40 runs and it would have been a different story, but I still believe you can’t afford to get bowled out for 100-115 runs on the third day of the game. This probably is the worst game that we have played in 11 games and I would take it because it can happen. But I think we can keep coming back stronger again and again and one day we will win it.”Kotak wasn’t soft on his batsmen and his displeasure at their inability to rise to the occasion was evident. But he offered some solace when he said the conditions would have challenged any top-quality batsman.”Overall, only two innings have been very fluent,” he observed. “Shreyas Iyer played a lot of strokes and Lad played after they were nine down. Apart from that, the wicket was such that unless you take a chance and play, I don’t think it was bogging down. The toss was crucial. That made it a little difficult because obviously with the moisture, the ball wasn’t coming that hard on the bat. All in all, it looked like if you took a chance and played, you would have been better off.”But it is very hard advice to give to a batsman, that you take a chance and play. Unless somebody’s game is like that and he plays to his game and is lucky enough to survive like Shreyas did,it was hard. He got dropped and was beaten at least eight to ten times, and didn’t nick it. Credit to him for cashing in, he played some fantastic shots. But I think as a coach, it is very difficult to tell a batsman you take a chance and play his strokes.”We have a player like him in Jackson but like I said in the first innings, because of moisture, first 30 balls he couldn’t get a run and got out but I suppose when it goes against you, it goes against you. I don’t think we were missing much. We could have bowled better. When you lose, you could have done everything better, couldn’t you?”Asked to sum up the campaign, there was a hint of regret, but their fight to the final after being relegated pleased Kotak the most. “The way we played the quarter-final and semi-final was excellent. Just the way our fast bowlers bowled, was brilliant,” he said. “I think there were a lot of positives. In a way, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Bengal, UP, Delhi not playing the final and Saurashtra playing the final, that is a positive.”

An emotional Virat Kohli has called his unbeaten, match-winning and World T20 semi-final spot sealing 82 off 51 balls as his best innings in the format. India had been set a target of 161, and they were fading away at 94 for 4 in the 14th over. The required run-rate had hit double-digits as early as the 10th over, but Kohli took it head on and did so by trusting his game.In February, he had spoken about coming to terms with not being able to hit as many sixes as he’d like, and that he had worked past that by looking for fours. The work he had done towards that goal came to fruition in Mohali as he single-handedly led India to victory. Eight of his 11 boundaries came in the last five overs.”It certainly has to be in the top three,” Kohli said at the post-match presentation. “Probably the top right now, because I’m a bit emotional, so I would like to put this on top. Against Australia, a world-class side, literally a quarter-final for us, we had to go over the line. There’s a lot riding on us in this World Cup, we are playing at home and the crowds want to see us and we just want to give them as much entertainment and fun as possible.”The game was packed up with five balls to spare and Kohli, who was at the non-strikers’ end, simply raised his hands in triumph and fell to his knees with nothing more than a smile. He has a reputation of not holding back while celebrating, but this innings and the weight it lent in turning the match India’s way had hit him hard.”I don’t really know what to say right now, because I’m overwhelmed by the position we were in and then to take out the match,” Kohli said. “This is what you play cricket for. You need new challenges in every game, but trust me, you don’t like these situations too much.”The man who reined those emotions in while the battle was at its peak was India’s captain MS Dhoni. “MS, in the end, kept me calm. I could have gotten over-excited so I think it was a wonderful team batting effort and very happy we crossed the line,” Kohli said.The reason Kohli, one of the best chasers in the limited-overs game, was feeling uncertain was because of how much India struggled during the middle-overs. Suresh Raina fell to the short ball in the eighth over leaving the score at 49 for 3, and the incoming batsman Yuvraj Singh hurt his left ankle off the second ball he faced. From that time, India had to settle for 40 runs in 35 balls and found the boundary only twice.”It was a bit tough at that time to focus on what we need to do,” Kohli admitted. “He’s [Yuvraj] such an explosive player, you don’t have to have him at 60-70%.”He just decided that he was just going to go for the team’s cause. He perished, but it was a good thought because if you are injured, you might as well make the most of the balls that you are going to play because you are not going to be able to push as you want to push as a runner. India began reeling back lost ground with the partnership between Kohli and Dhoni, which was kickstarted by singles and twos. “Me and him have a great understanding as to where to hit the ball and how to push the fielders on the boundary and that’s why you train in the gym,” Kohli said. “That’s why you do those fitness regimes, those sprints, and all the other tests that you go through. It all helps. I like to play for when I’m tired, I should be able to run as fast as when I’m on zero and I think that training paid off today.”Another factor in upping his game tonight was the crowd. “The support was unbelievable. Mohali has always been special. We played the 2011 World Cup semi-final here, the atmosphere was electrifying and as I said, the positive energy from the people in the stadium helps you push through those tough moments and a bit of luck goes your way as well”Kohli hit seven of his nine fours in the last five overs, and a lot of them were placed with skillful precision. It began when he picked a slower ball – the first ball of the 18th over – from James Faulkner and clattered it to the square leg boundary. The next one – a wide yorker – was calmly steered to the backward point boundary and a lofted thwack over extra cover for six provided the exclamation point. Kohli had taken control as those six balls yielded 19 runs.The penultimate over, from Nathan Coulter-Nile, was crashed for four fours despite what length the bowler bowled. Half-volleys were easy. Length balls simply provided leverage and the short ball was caned to the fine-leg boundary because the man was inside the circle.Before that sequence, India had to get 39 off 18. After it, the equation was a mere 4 off 6.”That was a pretty serious innings, that,” Australia captain Steven Smith said when asked if one man had beaten his side tonight, “Under pressure, he just hit everything out of the middle and found the gaps. And he’s done it for a very long time and credit to him, he played beautifully.”Dhoni was lavish with his praise for Kohli as well, but underneath that lay a rap for the rest of the Indian batsmen.”I think he has been playing brilliantly in the last two-three, maybe four years, and we have seen him evolve as a cricketer,” Dhoni said. “That is something that is very important. Everyday when you turn [up] on the field, when you play a big innings, you want to improve and you want to keep the learning because you will commit mistakes but what is important is to take the positives out of game and that’s what he has done.”He has kept improving his game, he is very hungry to score runs for the team and that’s what really counts and actually it’s the other batsmen who have to step up. Dentro dos esforços de aperfeiçoar a experiência do torcedor no Nilton Santos, o Botafogo ampliará a utilização da tecnologia Voucher Seguro®. Torcedores que adquirirem ingressos pela internet terão acesso ao Estádio diretamente com um QRCODE randômico em seu celular, pelo app Voucher Seguro. O sistema evita fraudes e reduz a necessidade de atendimento, uma vez que não é necessária a troca na bilheteria.

GRATUIDADE

Há gratuidade para crianças (menores de 12 anos), idosos (acima de 60) e Portadores de Necessidades Especiais apenas nos setores Oeste Inferior, Leste e Sul, sendo obrigatória a reserva antecipada ou a retirada prévia em General Severiano ou Estádio Nilton Santos quinta (dia 28) ou sexta (dia 29) . Para acesso ao Estádio, será necessária a apresentação dos documentos comprobatórios. NO DIA DO JOGO NÃO HAVERÁ RETIRADA DE GRATUIDADES NÃO RESERVADAS.

MEIA-ENTRADA

De acordo com a Lei nº 12.933, de 26 de dezembro de 2013, e Lei nº 3364, de 07 de janeiro de 2000, e com limite de 40% da carga de ingressos, a meia-entrada é direito de estudantes, jovens de 12 a 21 anos, jovens de baixa renda inscritos no Cadastro Único para Programas Sociais do Governo Federal, professores da rede pública municipal de ensino e acompanhantes de PNE.

Serão exigidos documentos na compra do ingresso e na entrada ao estádio. O nome será cadastrado no sistema e impresso no bilhete para evitar venda em duplicidade. Quem adquirir meia-entrada terá que comprovar o direito antes de chegar à catraca. Não compre de cambistas.

– Venho fazendo um trabalho muito forte desde o início da temporada e isso é muito importante. Foi um ano muito bom para mim individualmente, talvez um dos melhores da minha carreira. Agradeço ao CRB por isso. Estou muito feliz com tudo que vem acontecendo – disse.

– Estou em uma expectativa grande para a próxima temporada. Espero que ela seja de conquistas para o CRB e seu torcedor. Vamos lutar muito para que seja uma grande temporada. Estou bem próximo de bater a marca dos cem jogos com a camisa do CRB. Será muito importante para mim isso. Tenho construído uma história muito bonita com a camisa do clube. Espero que esses números dobrem nos próximos anos.

Ainda que Vanderlei Luxemburgo e Jorge Sampaoli tenham perfis bem diferentes, o Palmeiras entende que conseguirá com o ídolo implementar as mudanças traçadas quando negociava com o técnico argentino. No domingo, o novo técnico já começou a falar sobre as diretrizes para 2020 com o presidente. Após ser homenageado no Tocantins, terça, Luxa deve intensificar nesta quarta os trabalhos na busca por novos atletas e saídas de outros, já com o novo diretor de futebol.

Depois de acumular um déficit parcial de R$ 36 milhões no ano, o Verdão planeja realizar vendas neste fim de temporada. O clube entende que um dos motivos para estar no vermelho foi a decisão de manter todo o elenco campeão brasileiro, mesmo com ofertas robustas do exterior, como por Gustavo Gómez e Dudu.

A intenção para 2020 ainda é manter atletas deste nível, considerados alicerces do elenco, mas fazer caixa com jogadores como Borja e Deyverson. Com a negociação de atletas já em fim de ciclo e a promoção de garotos da base, a ideia no Palmeiras é ter um gasto menor com o elenco sem prejuízo técnico.

No Vasco, Luxemburgo promoveu garotos como Bruno Gomes, Gabriel Pec e, principalmente, Thalles Magno. O Palmeiras, para 2020, anunciou as promoções de Esteves, Gabriel Menino, Patrick de Paula, Angulo e Veron, que já atuou no profissional e fez dois gols.

A apresentação de Vanderlei Luxemburgo ainda não está confirmada, mas deve acontecer no fim da semana, pois Maurício Galiotte viajou ao Paraguai, onde ocorrerá o sorteio dos grupos da Copa Libertadores. O Verdão é um dos cabeças de chave da competição.
