Desde sua fundação, em 2013, o Altos precisou lidar com dificuldades financeiras em meio à vontade de crescer dentro do futebol do Piauí. Apesar dos obstáculos, a equipe vem conquistando seu espaço e atingindo marcas inéditas, como a de chegar às quartas de final da Copa do Nordeste.

Até o momento, o time piauiense recebeu R$ 940 mil (R$ 640 mil na fase de grupos e R$ 300 mil por ter avançado ao mata-mata) pela disputa do torneio. O dinheiro chega num momento em que o clube precisa quitar os salários atrasados e driblar a falta de investimento de patrocinadores.

– Esse dinheiro nos ajuda demais, eu tenho sonhado com isso. Cada real, cada centavo aqui no Altos é muito importante – disse o presidente Warton Lacerda ao LANCE.

Neste ano, o Altos não contou com o valor das cotas de transmissão da Copa do Brasil, como aconteceu nos últimos dois anos. Por isso, o dinheiro da Copa do Nordeste se torna ainda mais importante para a sequência da temporada.

– O clube está com uma parte dos salários atrasados, mas estamos trabalhando para quitar a dívida. Se os clubes grandes estão com dificuldades, imaginem nosso time, que é um time pequeno do Nordeste, sem renda e com patrocínios escassos – afirmou o mandatário.

No ano passado, o Altos conquistou o sonhado acesso à Série C do Brasileiro. A diretoria manteve o time e contratou algumas peças para esta temporada. Apesar da evolução, o clube ainda enfrenta problemas na hora de fechar com patrocinadores.

– Temos lutado muito, os valores são muito pequenos. Infelizmente, as grandes empresas não acreditam no futebol piauiense. O Altos é o único time do estado na Série C, o único do estado que está na fase mata-mata da Copa do Nordeste, mas os patrocínios são muito pequenos. A falta de apoio é muito grande – desabafou Warton.

Outro fator que tumultuou o início da temporada do Altos foi o surto de COVID-19. O time perdeu 10 atletas por contaminação ao longo da competição. Além dos jogadores que precisaram ficar em isolamento social, outros se lesionaram.

– A gente vem tendo desfalques nas últimas semanas. Os atletas que se contaminaram já estão liberados e novos casos, felizmente, não apareceram. Os jogadores que estão um pouco debilitados na parte física devido ao desgaste dos jogos e sintomas gripais, acredito que até sábado estejam em condições – avaliou o técnico Fernando Tonet.

Caso passe pelo Vitória no sábado (17), às 16h, no Barradão, e conquiste uma das vagas da semifinal, o Altos receberá mais R$ 350 mil. Uma sonhada final acrescentaria mais R$ 500 mil ao vice-campeão e R$ 1 milhão ao vencedor do torneio.

The BCCI and its state associations are yet to fully implement the Lodha Committee’s reforms. What happens now, and when will the board conduct its elections?

On July 18, 2016, the court approved the reforms recommended by the RM Lodha Committee and directed that they be implemented by all state associations; it subsequently amended certain reforms at the request of several state associations. To date, though, not a single member association of the BCCI, nor the parent body itself, has implemented the recommendations in toto.The CoA has now recommended that the BCCI conduct elections within 90 days from the court’s ruling and has requested, in its status report, that the court approve a timeline for elections.Why has the BCCI failed to hold elections?To conduct the elections, the states and the BCCI first need to comply with the new constitution, which was registered last August. That means they have to agree unconditionally to all reforms. Not one of the 34 state associations of the BCCI was fully compliant when the CoA submitted its status report on October 27. Take the controversial TV-show comments of Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul: Rai and Edulji agreed the players ought to be penalised, but differed strongly on how to go about it. The BCCI’s legal team recommended that the players be suspended pending an inquiry with the Ombudsman being the final adjudicator. Both Rai and Edulji wanted the court to give directions on the appointment of an Ombudsman, a position the BCCI has not filled since late 2016. Finally, at the behest of Narasimha, both CoA members agreed to lift the suspension on the players.Their differences are now reflected in the fact that Edulji attended the January 17 hearing with her personal lawyer – Amit Sibal, the son of senior politician and prominent lawyer Kapil Sibal, who himself is representing one of the state associations. Although Edulji has not made any public statement it is understood that she wants to safeguard herself and hence wanted a lawyer.That’s it, then?Keeping in mind the differences between Rai and Edulji the court could consider adding new members – at least two – to the CoA which would allow it to reach a consensus.And, finally, who is conducting the hearing?At least three chief justices have presided over the case stretching back five years. Speaking to TNT Sports cited via TEAMtalk in the aftermath of the fixture, club legend Paul Scholes laid into Onana's performance on the night, stating: "What can you say? It’s a terrible mistake again (for the second goal). I’m sure if he is trying to punch it away with his right hand, it’s weak. He makes people nervous. Of course, Onana wasn't the only man to blame for Manchester United's downfall; however, it does provoke questions regarding the wider structure involving recruiting players at Old Trafford. Now, one other under-fire star could now be set to be replaced in January as part of a squad reshuffle by Ten Hag in the upcoming transfer window.

Um dos grandes desafios de Luxemburgo em seu novo projeto pelo Vasco é fazer com que o time produza mais jogadas ofensivas e que a bola chegue com mais frequência ao seu artilheiro Germán Cano. Nos últimos jogos, sob o comando do português Ricardo Sá Pinto, o Gigante da Colina apresentou muita dificuldade nas transições ofensivas e no setor de criação, levando pouco perigo ao gol adversário.

Tornar a defesa mais confiável

Ao longo da passagem de Ricardo Sá Pinto pelo Vasco, a defesa teve momentos de altos e baixos e muita irregularidade. Ele implementou um esquema com três zagueiros, que no primeiro momento conseguiu ser uma pouco mais consistente. Contudo, sofreu gol em 90% dos jogos e tomou duas sonoras goleadas contra Ceará e Grêmio.

Diante disso, Luxemburgo terá a missão de corrigir os erros defensivos, sobretudo os espaços deixados à frente da área vascaína. Contra o Athletico-PR, o que se viu foi um sistema defensivo frágil e pouco combativo. Na sua primeira passagem, em 2019, o treinador conseguiu equilibrar o setor, o que rendeu bons resultados e um crescimento na tabela.

Recuperar jogadores importantes

Durante a passagem de Luxemburgo pelo Vasco, Talles Magno começou a ser aproveitado pelo treinador e foi revelado para o futebol brasileiro. O jovem iniciou bem e deu esperança ao torcedor Cruz-Maltino. com velocidade e ousadia, que os levaram a seleção sub-20. Todavia, na temporada seguinte, o comandante foi para o Palmeiras, e Talles não foi mais o mesmo, sendo pouco produtivo à equipe e sendo facilmente envolvido pelas marcações adversárias.

A expectativa é que a joia volte a render com o retorno do comandante e seja lapidada para evoluir como atleta e ajude o clube a subir na tabela. Além dele, Yago Pikachu também tem tido um rendimento aquém do esperado e do que já apresentou no passado. O lateral parece outro jogador, mais disperso, perdido em campo e tem sido bastante questionado pela torcida.

Montar o time em um calendário curto e corrido

Em meio à pandemia, a temporada do futebol brasileiro só será finalizada em fevereiro. Com isso, Brasileirão, Libertadores, Sul-Americana e Copa do Brasil serão decididos nos dois primeiros meses de 2021. Apesar de só disputar a competição nacional, o Vasco terá um calendário curto e corrido para definir o seu futuro.

Nos meses de janeiro e fevereiro, o time entrará em campo nas doze partidas que restam para o fim do Brasileirão. Na zona da confusão, Vanderlei traça mais uma vez o objetivo de salvar o Vasco de um possível quarto rebaixamento de sua história. O elenco tem suas limitações, mas o técnico já mostrou eficiência em 2019, com um time inferior a esse, e tem condições de trabalhar não só taticamente, como psicologicamente, mexendo com os brios dos atletas.

Ser decisivo nos confrontos diretos

Por fim, os próximos jogos do Vasco serão decisivos na luta contra o rebaixamento. O time terá pela frente de maneira seguida Atlético Goianiense, Botafogo, Coritiba e RB Bragantino, assim como partidas contra Bahia e Goiás até o fim da competição. Cabe ao novo treinador fazer com que o Gigante da Colina seja eficiente nesses famosos confrontos ‘de seis pontos”.

Projetar também o futuro

Luxemburgo deve adotar o mesmo modelo de trabalho de 2019, com um passo de cada vez, para aos poucos se afastar da zona de perigo. No entanto, com a possibilidade de fazer cinco substituições nos doze jogos que restam, o treinador pode utilizar alguns jogadores da base que já pedem passagem no profissional.

Um deles é o volante Bruno Gomes, de 19 anos, nome constante na seleção sub-20, que já demonstrou ser bem talentoso e pode aos poucos ter oportunidades. Outro é o lateral-esquerdo Riquelme, de apenas 18 anos, e que se espelha no ídolo Felipe para se firmar no profissional do Vasco. Cabe salientar que a base do Gigante da Colina é finalista da Copa do Brasil sub-20 e pode conquistar o título no próximo domingo, em São Januário.

Geoff Cook, Durham’s long-standing director of cricket, is to step down from his role at the end of the season as part of a staff restructure.Cook’s departure comes hot on the heels of the retirement of Paul Collingwood, the club’s longest-serving player, who was one of a raft of names whom Cook was instrumental in developing in his 27 years of service.After a 19-year county career with Northamptonshire, Cook returned to his native north-east in 1991 to help Durham make the transition to first-class cricket. He was appointed as Head Coach in 2007 and immediately guided the club to the Friends Provident Trophy, the first of a run of trophies that would include back-to-back Championship wins in 2008 and 2009.In 2013, he was forced to take time away from the game after suffering a heart attack while out jogging, but returned to the club in time to take part in their title celebrations after they had wrapped up their third Championship win in six seasons.Cook won seven Test caps as an opening batsman between 1982 and 1983. However, his greatest legacy is the number of outstanding players who have made their way through the county academy and, not only represented Durham, but gone on to become key players for England.In addition to Collingwood, who made his Durham debut in 1995, Cook was responsible for nurturing the likes of Ben Stokes, Mark Wood, Steve Harmison, Graham Onions and Mark Stoneman. وأعلن ساوثجيت استقالته من تدريب إنجلترا بعد خسارة لقب كأس الأمم الأوروبية “يورو 2024”.

وأفادت أنباء أن الاتحاد الإنجليزي لكرة القدم يبحث إمكانية التفاوض مع أنجي بوستيكوجلو لتدريب منتخب إنجلترا.

وقال بوستيكوجلو في تصريحات نشرها موقع “فوتبول لندن”: “كنت أخذ قيلولة بعد ظهر هذا اليوم”.

وأضاف: “ليس لدي أي فكرة، أنا مدرب توتنهام وأنا مصمم على تحقيق النجاح لهذا النادي، هذا هو المكان الذي ينصب فيه تركيزي تمامًا”.

وخسرت إنجلترا لقب كأس الأمم الأوروبية أمام إسبانيا بعد تعرضها للهزيمة بهدفين مقابل هدف، وأعقب ذلك قرار ساوثجيت بترك منصبه كمدير فني للمنتخب.

جدير بالذكر أن بوستيكوجلو وقع عقدًا مدته أربع سنوات مع توتنهام حين انضم للنادي في عام 2023.
